Warren -- Florence Claire (Znoj) Ethier,, a lifelong resident of Warren, died at home. She was 97 years old.

Daughter of the late John and Wanda (Urban) Znoj, and sister to the late John Znoj, Henry Znoj and May Geoffrey, Florence was predeceased by her husband William G. Ethier and daughter, Robin M. Field, formerly of Poolesville, MD.

Dedicating herself to her family, Florence was a homemaker and active volunteer in her church and throughout her neighboring community.


As a member of St. Mary’s of the Bay Rosary and Altar Society, Florence contributed many happy hours of service and fellowship to the church. A favorite recreation was the women’s bowling league at Dudek’s Bowling Lanes, where Florence bowled many strikes and spares, often setting records for her team.

Mrs. Ethier is survived by her children William H. Ethier, Paul C. Ethier, of Norwich, CT, Elaine Rezendes, of Somerset, MA, and Christopher P. Ethier, of Warren, RI, as well as 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation on Friday, Jan.19,2018 from 8:30 – 9:30am in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren , immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main St. , Warren.

Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol, R.I.
