Richard A. Miller, 85 of Bristol and formerly of Warren, died Friday Feb. 10, 2017 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home.

He was the husband of Mary (Tupaj) Miller.

Richard was born in Providence a son of the late Ray O. and Sarah (Browning) Miller.

He was a Mold and Dye Specialist for over 38 years for the Nyman Manufacturing, before retiring in 2010.

Richard has been a Bristol resident for 9 months coming from Warren, where he lived for over 41 years, and previously living in Riverside.

He was a Sergeant First Class, serving in the US Army.

Mr. Miller was a member of the Saints Matthew and Mark Church in Barrington, he was a member of the American Legion, and was also a volunteer with the East Providence Fire Department, where he served as a Lieutenant. Richard was also a deMolay Chevalier, within the church.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children Diane Selley of Riverside, Robyn Eannarino and her husband Paul of Riverside, Eric Miller and his wife Cindy Beachen of Holliston Ma., Melissa Dailey of Cranston, and Suzanne Vargas and her husband Brad of Rehoboth MA. He was the brother of Bruce Miller of Riverside, and his sister Virginia Baxter of Riverside. He was the grandfather of Amber, Nicholas, Damian, Shannon, Elise, Michael, Matthew, Maranda, and Lindsay. He was the great grandfather of Andrew, Zachary, Daniel, and Juliana. He is also survived by 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday February 15, 2017 in the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren RI from 4-7pm. The funeral service will be held Thursday February 16, 2017 at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Rhode Island Veterans Home, 480 Metacom Avenue, Bristol, RI, burial with Military Honors, will follow in South Burial Ground, Sowamset Avenue, Warren RI.
