Charles H "Chuck"  Alfred
Charles H. “Chuck” Alfred, 90, of Warren, died Wednesday Jan. 4 2017 at R.I. Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Mary J. ( Smith) Alfred.

Chuck was born in Plymouth MA, a son of the late Henry and Belmira “ Bella” ( Rezendes) Alfred.

Mr. Alfred was the Warren Town Clerk for over 25 years, before retiring.

He was a United States Navy Veteran serving during WWII.

He was a graduate of Providence College and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island.

Chuck has been a Warren resident since 1952 coming from Washington D.C., and previously Bristol.

A parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Democratic Town Committee.

Mr. Alfred is survived by his children Stephen A. Alfred of Wakefield, Mark S. Alfred of Bellingham MA., John C. Alfred of Warren, Linda Geisser of Attleboro MA., and Leslie McGrath of Bradford MA.,

He was the grandfather of 14, and the great grandfather of 9.

He was the father of the late William H. “Biddy” Alfred.

His funeral will be held Monday, January 9, 2017 at 8:30am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon Street.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours Sunday from 4-7pm.
