Colette M. (Yamaoka) Sonderegger, 79 of Barrington, died Wednesday Jan. 4, 2017 at R.I. Hospital.

She was the wife of Henry Sonderegger.

Colette was born in New York, New York a daughter of the late George and Mimi (D’Auriac) Yamaoka.

Mrs. Sonderegger, was the Administrator of the Urban Studies Department , at Brown University for over 25 years, before retiring.

She has been a Barrington resident since 1976, coming from Bristol, where she lived from 1966-1974 and previously lived in New York City.

Colette was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Barrington. She enjoyed bowling, golf and playing bridge. Her memberships included the Barrington YMCA Swim Team Moms, and the Barrington Women’s Club

Besides her husband she is survived by her son Kurt Sonderegger of Encititas California and her daughter Krista Concannon of Barrington. She was the grandmother of Matthew, Paige, and Audrey Concannon.

She is also survived by her cousins Paul – Philippe D’Auriac and Soledad Wojtowicz both of New York City.

Arrangements are with Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends, Saturday, January 7th. from 12 -2:30pm. Burial will follow in the Memorial Garden at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington.
