Jose F. Costa, 62 of Warren, died Tuesday Dec. 13, 2016 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence.

He was the husband of Maria Dos Anjos Sousa Costa.

Mr. Costa was born in Azores Portugal, a son of Maria Do Carmo DeFrias, and the late Manuel Costa Vincent.

Jose was a mason worker for Raposo – Costa Masonary, and was also previously the manager for the Mermaid Beach Club in Bermuda for many years. He has lived in Warren since 1995 coming from Bermuda, and Portugal.
He was a parishioner of St Thomas the Apostle Church. Mr. Costa loved soccer and his favorite team was Benfica, he also enjoyed fishing, gardening, wine making, and spending time with family.

Besides his wife he is survived by his sons Bruno (wife Kerri E.) Costa of North Smithfield, Robert Costa of Warren, a daughter Vera Costa of Warren, his brothers Antonio M. Costa of Warren, Paulo Jorge Costa of Swansea Ma. He was the grandfather of Bowie Isabella Sousa Banning, Caleb Alexandre Gillis Costa, Bellamy Eleanor Sousa Banning. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Anna Maria Pimental , and the late Lubelia DeJesus.

His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00am from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren, burial in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery, Vernon St.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-8pm.
