Joseph Russo, 88, of Hollywood, Florida past away of natural causes on April 7th. He was the husband of Carola (Giusti) Russo for the past 65 years.

Born in Bristol and a former resident of Bristol and North Providence, he was the son of the late Francesco Russo and Nancy (Foti) Russo. Mr. Russo was a cost engineer from the 1940s to the 1980s for construction companies. He was a graduate of Colt High School in Bristol where he was All State in football and elected into the Hall of Fame. Mr. Russo was an accomplished pianist and had his own band during and after his high school years. He was a graduate of Providence College. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; daughter, Elaina Gioiosa and her husband Robert Gioiosa; his son, Frank J. Russo and his wife Patricia Russo. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Angelo, Frank, and Edward Russo all from Bristol.
Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, where family will receive friends Sunday 4-8pm. Funeral Monday 8:45 from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 in St Mary's Church, Wood Street, Bristol. Burial in St Mary's Cemetery.
