Age 92 of Warren died Saturday October 6, 2018 at Crestwood Nursing Home.
He was the husband of the late Maria Celeste Avila. Born in Castelo Branco, Faial, Azores. He was a son of the late Jose and Filomena Avila. He came to America 50 Years ago and worked as a landscaper.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and sang in their choir.
He is survived by his children Manuel Silveira and his wife Noemia of Providence. Joseph Avila and his wife Mary of Bristol. Francisco Avila of Arkansas,KS. Herman Avila and his wife Denise of North Stonington CT. Jorge Avila of Warren, Margarida Myers of Leavenworth Kansas, Luis Avila of Warren and Ruth Raposa and her husband John of Bristol.
He also has 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He also has two brothers Antonio Avila of Canada and Gregorio Avila from Bristol,
He was the brother of the late Silvino Avila, Herminia Braia, Ines Vargas, Ester Teixeira, and Manuel Avila
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday October 10, 2018 from Smith Funeral & Memorial Services 8 Schoolhouse Road Warren with visiting hours from 7 am to 8:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Church 500 Metacom Avenue, Warren at 9 am. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Bay Cemetery Warren.
