Obituary for Anthony Joseph Perrone

Anthony Joseph Perrone
Anthony “Tony” Joseph Perrone, 88, most recently of Middletown, RI and long time resident of Warren, RI, peacefully passed into eternity to be with his beloved wife, Fanny Perrone, in the early morning hours of June 18, 2018. He was living at Blenheim-Newport Assisted Living in Middletown, RI.
The only child of Sicilian immigrants, Antonio and Gracia Perrone, Tony epitomized the post-WWII American Dream. A quiet yet determined man, Tony threw tradition to the wind, wooed and ultimately married Fanny Kresch, a young Jewish girl. Together they created a strong, loving family, raising two children, Anthony William (wife, Nicole) and Donna Joy (partner, Eric).
Tony instilled strong values in his children, focusing on modesty, patience and consistency. His sense of humor and laugh was infectious, and he was valued by friends and family for being a gregarious, yet gentle spirit. Tony was an avid sportsman, and had dreams of professional baseball as a youth. While this never materialized, he remained a relentlessly staunch fan of his cherished New York Yankees.
He was a loving and supportive Father, and a devoted and loyal husband. In addition to his children, Tony (“Poppi”;“Papa”) will be sorely missed by his 5 grandchildren: Michael and Jessica; Nicholas, Alexandra and Gregory.
All of us are comforted by the knowledge that Tony passed from this life into the next very peacefully, after spending Father’s Day weekend with his family. We know that he is once again reunited with the love of his life, and other friends and relatives who have gone before him. We take comfort in the knowledge that he is in the Presence of his Maker, who never stopped loving him in this life.
Calling hours will be held June 22, 2018 from 4-7 pm at Smith Funeral Home, 8 Schoolhouse Rd., Warren, RI 02885. His funeral will be held at the funeral home Saturday, June 23, 2018, at 10am. Burial will be at the North Burial Ground, Bristol, RI
