Warren - Maria daGloria ( Alves) Nunes, 96, of Warren died Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of the late Antonio H. Nunes.
She was born in Felgueira, Portugal, a daughter of the late Manuel Alves da Capela and Olimpia
(Augusta ) Alves da Capela

Maria was an Assembler for the American Tourister Company. She has been a Warren resident for over 50 years coming from Portugal.

Maria enjoyed knitting, gardening and crocheting, she also loved flowers and enjoyed spending time with her family.

she is survived by her son Mario Nunes of Warren, her daughters Maria DaCosta of Warren, Maria Manuela Duarte of Seekonk and Helen Leal of Bristol.

Mrs. Nunes was the grandmother of Ana Paula DiChristofaro, Stacy Bliss, Steven Nunes, Melissa Tavares, Kristina Duarte and Laura Leal.
She was also the great grandmother of Jazmynn Bliss, LeBron Bliss, Landon Bliss, Noah Baptista, Veda Tavares, Clive Tavares, Jason Zapata and Vincent Tavares.

Maria is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Diamontino Alves, Luis Alves, Manuel Alves,Jose Alves and Delmira Henriques.

Her funeral will be held Saturday May 26, 2018 at 9:00am from the SMITH FUNERAL & MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Church, 645 Main Street, Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Friday May 25, 2018 from 6:00pm -- 8:00pm.
